Thursday, September 13, 2007 Well, 8 weeks has passed. Feels different? haha.. Feels like time has passed rather fast actually. Looking back, its sure alot of shit that i've gone thru, but an extremely enjoyable BMT. Never thought ill be able to do alot of things when i first entered and now that i POP (Ya... POP Lo), Well, they dont seem that impossible do they? haha.. I've cleared my 1.5km SOC in 9 min 35 sec and attained a Silver with a 2.4 timing of 10.29 something i never thought ill be able to do.. (FYI i never was able to break the 12 minute barrier before i enlisted) Field camp over, it taught me never to take alot of things for granted. Never take the TOILET FLUSH for granted. Im not going to recount of how i even took a crap in the field. Hot food, showers, and handphones all the basic commodities in the civillian world mean SO much out there in the jungle of tekong. With Iron solider ( think a 4km route with stations to complete in between and its all timed) and Ultimate detachment(Think stations to complete as a detachment and ending with a 9km route with FBO AND timed) challenge under my belt, theres really a breakthrough in the limitations that i've placed in myself. For once, and this is gonna sound so cliche, Impossible is nothing. Had my POP just after my 24km route and surprisingly, it was not all that difficult. As OC, we DID come back to camp with a smile albeit with sore feet. And not a blister formed. Guess those toe socks did the trick. Feels good wearing the jungle hat. gonna change my call sign tho. Fuji just seems way too small. And for those interested, I'm heading to Airborne course! After that, its demo/boatman for me =] Guess i'm gonna blow some shit up. haha. :D |
