Wednesday, June 06, 2007 This is my 90th post and i cant believing im actually typing this during work. But shhh iight?! hahaha. Well, pretty much a normal week, with the exception for the batam trip, and a good dinner cum chatting (albeit) drnking session late at my house last night. Went to batam for the choir retreat and although we were spoilt with fantastic scenery and crisp ocean breeze, the place was very much built on stilts and bits and pieces were crumbling; the experience of hearing the ocean waves at night crash into the pillars of ur room is something you dont tend forget easily.Training was pretty good, although i thought the basics was unnecessary. The girls went for jacuzzi treatment followed by full body scrubs, while the guys just stayed in their rooms to nua. Talk about knowing how to enjoy life. -.- Well, at least we were'nt the ones in the end who had to feel the burn in our pockets :P Left the next day (2D1N nia) after heading to the city for a quick lunch at their local branch of seoul garden. My heart goes out to the super short one hour of eating. I spend two and half hours there on an average. Minimal. That left me one hour to search every nook and cranary of the shopping centre for something tangible to bring back. Surprisingly, for a place with numerous shops, i found nothing. prices were just a few dollars different from singapore, and call me a national-ist, but i just dont trust the quality there. So i improvised. Teh bottle! haha.. For those who don't know what they are, its a popular local tea drink that doesnt sell in Singapore. Im thinking cos its a rather acquired taste. :) Boat ride back to SG was uneventful, but seeing those 3 Turbo charged V12(?) engines displace water from the stern was oddly therapeutic. Call me nuts, but so there. And poor Kevin had to wait 2 and half hours just to clear immigration. No.. he didnt try to smuggle back an indonesian wife nor was he trafficking anything lethal. The queue for non-singaporeans was just plain bloody long. If any corporation was applying for the worst process management award, the Singapore Harbour Authorities would surely be a contender. For a country which is trying it's best to draw in foreign talent, this is sure as hell an impressive way to welcome them. Will blog about sunday's working experience soon. Brain's creative juices seems to be too saturated for use at the moment. Till then, ill leave you with the better results of 2 day's worth of snapping :) |
